I keep hearing good things about Dexter. Guess I need to watch it:-)

Paramount and Showtime Entertainment have announced Dexter: Season One is coming to Blu-ray Disc on January 6. This marks the first TV on Blu-ray title released by the publisher and certainly not the last with The Tudors seeing a Canadian release by year's end.

Dexter on Blu-ray will be presented in widescreen 1.78:1 1080p video and 5.1 Dolby TrueHD audio.

Extra features have yet to be announced but we expect the following DVD features to port over to Blu-ray.

* Two cast commentary tracks
* The Academy of Blood: A Killer Course!"

Two bonus episodes of Showtime's Brotherhood were on the DVD release and may or may not appear on Blu-ray, as with episodic downloads. We'll update the final extras roster once available.

Be on the lookout for that update, as well as high-res cover art, pricing and pre-order information, in the days ahead.

At this time, there's no word on Dexter: Season Two's Blu-ray arrival. With season three underway on Showtime already, we'd like to think Paramount will issue season two on Blu-ray by next summer.
