Like Babylon 5 when I get to catch it (Perhaps I felt it was too dark, but very good storylines though) .... For me, does not seem to have the pull to make me want to get to it's regular schedule; unlike say, Star TRek, or BattleStar Galactica having the pull to get it's regular schedule.... Cheers!
I am suprised that no one has mentioned Babylon 5 yet. While I love all things Star Trek, (thus my user name) Babylon 5 had a much better thought out story arc than any of the ST series ever thought of having. If you have not seen it, buy the DVD sets and watch it! If you love SciFi, you will love Babylon 5.
ST TNG is what got me started - I even did the conventions, but it has been a while, although I did a Comicon a few years ago.
Speaking of Joss Whedon, has anyone seen "Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog" - it's only on the internet. I hope someone else besides me has seen this! This is the best thing coming from the internet since, uh, sliced bread! ; )
Hi! Has anyone ever watched Dresden on Sci-Fi channel? I loved that show but it only aired for one season.
Quantum Leap was a great Show...... I just listed season 1 - 3 for you guys..... and 4 & 5 when i get through them in the next couple weeks.
And i LOVE Journeyman...it's today's QL.
BSG (BattleStar Galactica) RAZOR this week November 24 !!!
I don't even who what the RAZOR refers to.... Is it the other BattleStar ship's name?
Hello! I'm a new Switcher.
My favourite scifi series for the nostalgia factor is Star Trek TNG. It was my first obsession, and I think my value system was pretty much molded by Jean Luc Picard. I work in a Human Resources department now, and I love it, because everyone is polite and motivated like the crew of the Enterprise-D.
The modern scifi series that owns me is Farscape. Episode by episode, it was pretty hit and miss for me, but the overall arc and tone of the show swayed me. Every one of its main cast can make me cry. It's the sort of show I had to love, and that I would be a fanatic for. I would go to conventions for Farscape, if I went to conventions. Technically, I think Battlestar Galactica is a better program, but I want to watch Farscape more often.
Overall, I would say that Firefly is my favourite scifi show. Period. It took the entirety of my watching the first season as it aired for me to get the show, but once I did, I went back and watched every episode numerous times. They all got better the more I watched them. Joss Whedon is my master.

My favorite scifi shows would have to be Farscape, Battlestar Galactica, and Lexx. Some others that may not fall under the scifi category would be Aeon Flux, and Reign the Conqueror.
re... KB-Did... "Firefly...gotta love the western/sci-fi mix. Also, it is unlike a normal 'heist' story because the Alliance's trade restrictions are so opressive that one has to break the law to survive." Loved Firefly, too.
especially the char.s like the teen aged girl trained (and bred) as a weapon. Was her name "River"? And the empath-like "companion", highly regarded by some, lowly regarded by others, what was class called? name?
Highly enjoyed and recommended.
Does the Twilight Zone count? Star Trek: TNG ( I haven't seen much of the other, but I am sure I'd love them), Though I haven't seen much of it, Stargate SG-1. I am getting Stargate Atlantis Pilot Episode in the mail from here soon.
When Bab5 was in its original syndication run I only caught it on ocassion and did not really get into the story line that much. It wasn't until I bought the DVD sets and watched the series end to end that I really came to appreciate the genius of J. Michael Strazinski (sp?). He really is a great storyteller, and unfortunately does not seem to get the respect he deserves.
One of the main things that I like about Bab5 is that the universe it is set in is so believable. The characters are very well acted, and have many levels. And although many of the stories stand on their own and can be viewed one off, they really need to be viewed in one after the other in order to really "get" what is going on. Strazinski really packs a lot of storytelling into each episode. There were not many "filler" episodes in the series. Almost every one had a real reason for existance. I guess you could say that Strazinski really drew me in to his universe.
