Huh, I think I am still going to wait until they go down a bit more. Mainly due to my husbands lay off...

Blue Disks

Yea, an edit button would be nice. FYI, 40 Gb PS3 are being released with no backward compatibility ($399.99). 60Gb bundles are going on now to clear the stock of 60Gb. 60Gb and 80Gb are the same price now $499.99 and both have backward compatibility.

Maybe I should consider getting a Slim PS2 while I wait for the PS3 to go down. I think it may serve as a addition to my son's room when we do get the PS3. They are probably pretty darn cheap too now that the PS3 is out......

Doubt you'd casually run into it, but Rez also has a blue back.

Yea, the newer PS2s have that fixed. The laser could not refocus in the older versions. =/

Huh, Maybe you have the new Slim PS2? They may have fixed the problem with the blue disks somehow with the newer version of the PS2. You wouldn't have thought that CD or DVD would have a different sized hole and have problems like that, but they do. Even Blockbuster warned me of people having problems with blue disks so I know I am not the only one... Should invest in a Slim PS2, however, I really want to save up for the new PS3!

Super Bust A Move2, Magix Music Maker, Speed Kings. I've never had any problems with blue disc??

There's also RPG Maker 2 that has a blue disk

You can add Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex to that list. As far as I remember, it's the only blue disc I've had.

Oh a simple way to tell if it is a blue or silver disc game, look at the back of the artwork. If it is a blue disc, the artwork will say "Compact Disk" and if it is a silver disc, the artwork will say "DVD Rom". Reason, is when the system first came out, DVD's were costly, so it was more efficient to have CDs for developers if the game was under 700 MB and DVDs for games larger than that.

Here's my list of games that are blue disc:
Aliens vs Predator: Extinction
Army Men: RTS
Bloody Roar 3
Contra: Shattered Soldier
Dark Summit
Eve of Extinction
Future Tactics: Uprising
Gauntlet: Dark Legacy
Harvest Moon: Save the Homelands
Hidden Invasion
Monopoly Party
Oni
Ring of Red
SSX
The Sims
Timesplitters
Virtual Fighter 4
Wizardry: Tales of the Forsaken

I think Marvel vs Capcom 2.
Cheers :)

Ok. The thing I hesitate to get are PS2 games that are colored blue. I have run into three:
ICO
Lego Star Wars 2
Army Men: Green Rogue

Now these aren't bad games, just blue disks don't play quite as well as regular disks. My husband puts a little rubber cement around the inside of the whole of the disk to stop it from slipping..... Now you really have to weigh out how bad you want to play the game since I am sure it comes off inside the PS2. We have had it for years and haven't had any problems with it, but that doesn't mean we won't. Anyway, I would love to know what other games are colored blue for the PS2. So I am asking everyone to add games to my list! Thanks!!
