Hey!
OK, now that we've done our first Switch:
1) Liberty Heights is still available if you want it
2) I'd be very interested in taking your Patch Adams if you'll release it (it currently shows that you have it, but it is not available for trade).
I've accepted your request for X-Files S2 and I've also requested a movie from your collection (Stakeout) - this should give you ten additional credits which will land in your account once I receive Stakeout, at which point if you still want Liberty Heights, it'll be available to you. :-) Let me know if that's how you want to proceed - I'll make sure I don't accept any switches from anyone else for that title.
Pleasure tradin' with ya!
Re: "Saved"
I've been scouring my collection for this title and can't find it, alas. After a couple more days, this switch will revert back to "accepted" and at that point you can cancel it.
I'm sorry about this, but in fact I think the problem lies with Switchplanet, as this has happened before. I believe (but can't prove) what's happened is that I've already Switched this title away, but it didn't get removed from my list - and as I have so many titles, I didn't realize it was already gone when I accepted your request. The title doesn't appear in my SENT list, but it was the same the last two times this happened - I think that's part of the bug in the Switchplanet system.
I'll try to be more careful about this in the future. I do apologize for how long it's taken for me to notice this problem: I've been stunningly busy at work and this is the first chance I've had to look at the situation.
20SB seems quite high for "Road House" and definitely above Switchplanet's recommendations for that title. If you'd be willing to lower that price I might take it off your hands.
Tammy,
Thanks for your interest in the Everybody Hates Chris discs. As I noted in the comments (after noting it was missing two discs), I also stated I would reduce the price of the set to 1SB if switching to somebody in Canada - which you are.
I have therefore DECLINED your request, and I'm going to go back into the system shortly and change the price to 1SB, and tell the system to ONLY accept this switch request FROM YOU. Please go back and search for it again (just look me up and then list all my available discs) and make your request again - the system will then only charge you 1SB instead of 3SB.
Take a look at the current 'featured switchers for everything' --- three of the 5 are Calgarians --- you, discgolfer, and me! Doubt we'll see that again!!
Re: the "Heavy Petting" DVD which I'm just dropping into the mail now (well, packaging it now - it'll go out tomorrow morning).
The description that was included on this switch said that you were only getting disc #1 and that there were no bonus features. Turns out this is not entirely true: there's actually a couple of hours worth of bonus material on disc #1. There's more on the missing disc #2, but hey: what can ya do? This is the way I received it from another switcher, alas.
Anyways, I managed to find an online description of the two-disc set, which is as follows:
The two disc presentation of
Heavy Petting is
presented in a standard amaray case with artwork appropriate for the
film presented.
A plethora of bonus features away your discovery
on this release. First up, there is a
The Making of Heavy Petting
featurette, which is an interview with Obie Benz on the idea and
production for this film. There are also
extended sexual confessions
with several of the participants in this film.
On the second disc are ten hilarious scare films
from the 30s, 40s and 50s that you wont want to miss. All of
these films are presented uncut and in their entirety. The films
offered are As Boys Grow, Molly Grows Up, Dance, Little Children,
The Innocent Party, In Defense of the Nation, Easy to Get, Know for
Sure, Perversion for Profit, Printed Poison and Social Sex Attitudes
in Adolescence. There is also a short introduction for the films
with the director Obie Benz.
Trust me, every single one of these films is
worth your time.
All things considered, a great assortment of
bonus features to accompany the film.
I'm relieved that the three discs I sent you finally arrived - I was starting to worry a bit, especially since another disc I sent AFTER your shipment got returned-to-sender for insufficient postage (incorrectly I might add, at least as far as Canada Post's guidelines show).
I think I'll go browse your collection now. If anything piques my curiousity, I might just return the favour. :-)
Have you received the package of three discs I sent a couple of weeks back?
Thanks for the trade, will be mailing off Corpse Bride in the morning. You shd join the Canada group and West Coast it always helps. Not everyone trades to Canada unfortunately as I am finding out, lately I have been denied some switches. I will take note of those.
Hi JL,
Checked the 'Sleepers' disc under a brighter light and it's a lot more scratched than I first realized.
Have dropped the price to Discounted - 9 SB and made it available only to you (yep, want to see if that feature is now working!). Wasn't able to make changes without first declining your request, so you'll need to request again (assuming you still want it at the lower price)
One other note -- although it's only 148 minutes, the movie begins on side A and continues on B. (I popped this one in on side B first, then wondered why I was having trouble following the storyline!!!)
mld
Re: the scratches - I warned you about them. I've just gone back and
looked at your profile and, yep, there's my warning. I got no response
at all from you at the time, so I went ahead and shipped. This
particular disc was received used from either Peerflix or Flickflop, I
don't recall which. As I also stated, the disc plays perfectly and is
100% readable - or at least it was when it left here.
Re: the mailer - that, I'll have to look into. The mailer I used is the
identical mailer that Flickflop uses for 100% of its trans-border
shipments, so I thought they should be safe (it's hard to imagine them
staying in business if a large percentage of discs are arriving
damaged). I've sent five other discs to other Switchplanet members
using those same mailers - two received with, so far, no comment, the
other three are still in transit.
Your message said:
"Requested a DVD disc only from you. Pls. DO Not ship it bare nor in any
switch. More so, since this is international shipment to the U.S. If
you have other questions. drop me a comment...."
I'm very new to Switchplanet but I'm not new to DVD trading in general,
I've been on Peerflix for a couple of years and Flickflop for a couple
of months now.
Your comment is confusing to me, though. "nor in any switch" means what exactly? Could you please elaborate on this? Thanks.
Oh, btw, the disc in question is actually the "26th Anniversary
Edition" of The Jerk, which I believe is a relatively recent re-issue
of it (and which doesn't appear in Switchplanet's listing). I received
it from Flickflop, meaning it came as disc-only with no artwork or
case. It has a number of *VERY* small scratches, all very minor and
which do not affect playback (I run all discs I receive through a
readback test on my DVD-ROM to ensure that all sectors are 100%
readable).
